in the distance a half moon Luna.. as the telescope mirrors are cooling down from the summery day…
photograph taken during 2000 hours- eleventh- February- 2011
When you look at the moon throughout the months, it’s an interesting sight, looking through the telescopes, with binocular, or with your naked eyes.. in this case looking through the main telescope.. either through a Schmidt Cassegrain Meade or a Zeiss… in this case when I was taking this a frame moment in time.. I was opening up the dome, also the mirror hatches to cool down the mirrors, making sure that they don’t warp the images during the summery late evenings… takes a while to cool down the haft a meter mirror…of the Zeiss Edith Winstone Blackwell Telescope…
In this moment, it was summer, a very much warm day and the dome wasn’t operated during the day plus it need cooling for the evenings sessions to come on that fine night. In which crowds were given very much the starry night spectaculars.
