[New exhibition! The Forbidden City patterns make their digital debut in Hong Kong]
“‘Pattern’ carries the message – the Palace Museum immersive digital experience exhibition” officially opened today at the Hong Kong Palace Museum! The exhibition takes “pattern” as the theme and “immersion” as the core. It extracts traditional patterns from the ancient buildings, ceramics, and weaving and embroidery of the Forbidden City, and combines them with digital innovation to present the cultural connotations and contemporary art interpretations behind the “pattern” to the audience. 7 major exhibition areas immersively unlock the codes of millennium patterns such as bat and peach patterns and dragon patterns. As light and shadow flow, wave your hands to awaken cultural relics and create your own patterns… The exhibition is co-organized by the Hong Kong Palace Museum and the Palace Museum, and exclusively donated by the Public Welfare and Charity Research Institute. Exhibition location: Hall 7 of the Hong Kong Palace Museum, exhibition period: May 14 to October 13, 2025. The pattern codes of the Forbidden City are waiting for you to explore!
