Dahan is the last solar term in the twenty-four solar terms. ; the yellow longitude of the sun reaches 300°; the festival is held on January 20-21 of the Gregorian calendar every year. Dahan, like Xiaohan, is also a solar term that indicates the degree of coldness of the weather. Dahan means that the weather is extremely cold. According to the long-term meteorological records of our country, there is no small cold in the big cold solar term in the northern region; but for most of the southern regions, the coldest is in the big cold solar term

The great cold is at the end of the year, and winter comes to spring. Once the great cold is over, a new cycle begins. In some parts of our country, there are many important folk customs during the period from the great cold to the beginning of spring, such as removing the old and making new ones, making sausages, and offering sacrifices to the stove and tail teeth. The tail tooth festival, also known as “to make teeth”, “to make teeth sacrifice”, etc., there is a custom among the folks to “eat tail teeth” together with the whole family after the tooth sacrifice.
