The Qipao-Cheongsam workshop will be conducted in collaboration with HKDI – Hong Kong Design Institute- Fashion Studio; teaching is the Qipao-Cheongsam tailor grand master Doctor Cai Xiuhui… In first will introduce the history and culture of cheongsam, introduce the materials needed and the Hong Kong fabric market. From the second day of class, Professor Fengcai will teach cheongsam making skills, from tailoring, sewing to fitting, and finally complete a sleeveless and non-slip single cheongsam. The course combines theory and practice to give participants a basic understanding of cheongsam….. The course under take within thirty six hours in with twelve lesson workshop in total…….
The Traditional Cheongsam Making course requires, basic industrial sewing machine skills, starting from 21st September to3rd, 10th, 17th 24th 31st then November 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th final date in 5th December 2019.. However the course tuition has conditions in which in the following.. with a tution fee of HKD 6,840 Hong Kong Dollars.. to apply the deadline is at 20th August 2019….
Participants must have experience in using industrial sewing machines, otherwise they must participate in the industrial sewing speed course, learn to use industrial sewing machines, and related safety measures. If you have relevant experience, please provide a certificate.
Tuition does not include materials such as fabrics, buttons, and zippers. Trainees must bring their own tailoring tools.
Participants must be tempted by each other. If the student is a male student, he or she must take a model of his choice in the third class or use the mannequin on the hall.

Haipai cheongsam master – Feng Youcai master
A native of Shanghai, he is currently a small professional cheongsam master in Hong Kong. He has more than 50 years of experience in making cheongsam and mastered the first generation of the most traditional cheongsam making techniques and knowledge. His works are permanently collected in the San Tung Uk Museum and have been exhibited in local cheongsam exhibitions. Master Feng is now committed to teaching cheongsam production and inheriting this traditional Chinese craft.

With many years of international fashion brand communication experience, he is currently a lecturer in HKDI Fashion and Image Design, and serves as an image director and fashion media consultant. He loves cheongsam culture and craftsmanship, has studied in Shanghai, and has mastered the talented master.
