Cathay Theatre 国泰电影院, A five-star theatre located in Huangpu District, Haishi Cathay Cinema, formerly known as CATHAY THEATER, is located at No. 870 Huaihai Middle Road, Huangpu District, Shanghai (at the intersection of Maoming South Road), close to Exit 3 of South Shaanxi Road Station of Metro Line 1. Built in 1930, it was designed by Hongda Matheson. It has a reinforced concrete structure. The outer wall is made of purple red Taishan bricks and white caulking, which is a typical Art Deco style.
