The Master Qipao Artist Tailor is a third generation, Master, Mr Kan Hong Wing. In which the tailoring  business is family owned… in which he maintains a well grain tradition in tailoring Cheongsam-Qipao’s in which it was progress refined over the last three hundred years due to the Manchurian fashion influences of the Qing Dynasty..  in which the women Qipao wear was loosely in its wear, but over the last years of the Qing progressively it had become more innovatively ahead of it’s time for women’s wear in showing the feminine sensual silhouettes also the sleek simple, elegant, sexy intelligent sophistication of the woman whom where’s the Qipao..  In which those silhouettes brought into western women’s dresses wear styles adoption…

Master Tailor Mr Kan Hong Wing 68; prided himself in Qipao tailoring, in which consider it’s an art form that represents the customer, the wearer, also his tailoring craft in creating the gorgeous timeless elegant dresses that started to disappear in the 1950’s as the western women wear clothing started to become a promenade influence in Hong Kong, also the Qipao tailoring craft started to slightly diminishing due to the changing sociality nature of Mainland China as  during that time there was an insurgents of Qipao tailors leaving the country….

In ways, Master Kan Hong Wing feels that the Tailoring Qipao is unique to the Chinese Culture at heart also China, it’s never the same as it’s unique to the wearer, also tailoring the Qipao is a passion, in needing lots of Patience,  the love, that each dress that should be taken responsibility seriously..  Over the course of history, he has generations of customers, in which the customers bring their daughters…

As time goes by, there’s been a resurrecting in learning the craft in Qipao tailoring as there’s many workshops in Hong Kong, for whom want to take up the leaning the craft in teaching the craft is those Master Qipao tailors themselves mentoring the next generation…

As the spring towards summer season set to arrive in the Northern hemisphere so is the “Shanghai Tang – spring/ summer 2017 Collection” for women’s also menswear featuring more of freer, summery gracefully summery breathable fabrics… With more towards the elegant summery outdoors with bold, softer tropical pastel colors….   The women’s collection comes in with middle length dresses each taken with various elements of Shanghai Tang‘s signature Qipao-Cheongsam… with middle length silhouette innovative elements of A-lines, Jacquard, wrap, sleeve dresses among with the collection with printed silk long dresses summery prints that that are accustomed to traditional Chinese culture with the porcelain jade blue hand ornaments symmetrical cut outs, along with the recent arrival of dragon phoenix peacock feathers prints,  that only can be reminded of the decorative pieces of the Qing Dynasty official head dress stating their position of rank..

Also among the prints that can be remind of the Wisteria imperial garden Prints, like illustrated like the garden Chinese paintings.. Among the collection is ready to wear, with summery shorts, with Qipao silhouette cut tops, and jackets, shorts and skirts…
